The New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) is a state program that helps eligible adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities live as independently and successfully as possible. Applying for DDD can feel overwhelming at first, but you do not have to figure it out alone.In general, the process includes:Determining whether you meet DDD eligibility requirements. Completing the DDD application. Providing documentation of your disability. Applying for or maintaining Medicaid eligibility, since Medicaid is required for most DDD-funded services. Completing the New Jersey Comprehensive Assessment Tool (NJCAT), when applicable. Selecting a Support Coordination Agency after eligibility is approved.Every person's situation is different.
